Rockstar Games has issued an official apology for the “remasters” of Grand Theft Auto V’s terrible launch and poor quality. GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition did not match the company’s typical level of quality, according to a recent blog post, and will be getting updates to resolve lingering problems, the first of which will come “in the coming days.” GTA III, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas will all be available on the Rockstar Store once again.

Rockstar says:

We’re working on fixing the technical difficulties and improving each game in the future. Each planned upgrade will bring the games closer to the level of excellence that they deserve.

In the next days, all editions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will get a new Title Update that will solve a variety of bugs. We’ll notify everyone as soon as it’s available. […]

The vintage PC editions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be added to the Rockstar Store as a package in the near future. Additionally, until June 30, 2022, anybody who buys Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for PC from the Rockstar Store will obtain these classic versions for free in their Rockstar Games Launcher library. As soon as they are available again in the Rockstar Store, we’ll notify everyone.

Disgruntled GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition purchasers have also been instructed to cease harassing Rockstar Games personnel on social media. “As we work through these challenges, we would politely urge our community to help maintain a respectful and constructive dialogue surrounding this release,” it wrote.
