Cry Macho – Old Cowboys Never Cry

Cry Macho is an old west themed first-person shooter, where you play as a mercenary and take cash from the rich to save your family ranch. The game uses crypto currency through blockchain technology to make it impossible for the developer or publisher of Cry Macho to get their hands on customer funds.

Cry Macho is a game that is set in the Wild West. The objective of the game is to be the last cowboy standing. This game has been released on multiple systems and platforms, including PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Read more in detail here: cry macho cast.

Cry Macho, directed by Clint Eastwood, is a drama-free dream about an elderly cowboy. In this horribly weary, mediocre cinematic drama, the title rooster is at his best.

Welcome to Clint Eastwood’s fantastical universe. Cry Macho is a dream sequence in which a “never-ageing” director/actor strikes terror into the hearts of hard-assed henchmen with a single punch; where the charm of a man of few words has every beautiful woman at his feet; and where a young disciple, initially hesitant but later willing, readily accepts every tired life lesson from his young pupil. Eastwood has shown his ability as a filmmaker on several occasions, but this picture regrettably seems like a poor replica of Gran Torino.

“Are you too macho?” Not at all…

The film’s poor script adapts N. Richard Nash’s 1975 book, but it falls short of capturing the novel’s greatest elements. Cry Macho, adapted by Nash and Nick Schenk (Gran Torino, The Mule), has the book’s fundamental idea and “dramatic” turns but lacks the passion and creative style that would enable it to make a significant comment about masculinity or Latin “macho” culture. Apart from the fact that the two characters sometimes engage in very forced discourse on the topic, Eastwood’s picture has nothing to say about it.

Sure, the picture has violence and some sensuality, but there are no repercussions or proof that “macho” and all that comes with it is bad. Mike (Eastwood), a former rodeo star who has lost his family, his abilities, and his job, is instead sent to Mexico to recapture his boss’s estranged adolescent son, Rafo (Eduardo Minett). It would make more sense to send Mike on this assignment in the book if he wasn’t 91.

Tired… I’m exhausted…

Mike’s employer is portrayed by Dwight Yoakam, who has the terrible task of leading the film’s exposition in a groan-worthy role. Everyone in the film delivers their lines as if they’ve read the script ahead of time, but Yoakam’s role is especially strange.

However, much of the glaring illogic can be seen elsewhere: Mike is informed he’s clearly dressed as a gringo as a Mexican extra in the same attire walks behind him. Mike shouts at some ignorant officers for so long in another moment that he might have been imprisoned for a fourth of that time. The lamest and most unnatural scenario is when Mike gives Rafo’s mother – a bombshell – the coldest, funniest welcome conceivable when she genuinely asks the 91-year-old guy to bed in an ad-hoc manner when her men may stroll in at any minute. Between the two characters, there is practically no chemistry.

The film intends to exploit the well-known neo-western and father-son surrogate story scenarios, however Rafo may be Mike’s great-grandson since the protagonist is at least twice the age of the novel’s hero.

Please explain “moar.”

While the plot is simple to follow, all of the events and feelings that cross paths in the conversations are chewed up in the tongue for safety. Mike says loudly that Rafo has “grown-up” just in case he didn’t understand it. Rafo tells Mike, and therefore the viewer, when they arrive in a little Mexican hamlet and the local barmaid and Mike begin to develop evident tender emotions for one other.

By the way, Eastwood used to ride into dusty tiny Wild West communities behind God’s back in his classic western pictures. Even still, in them, he generally shot the evil people with his Colt, while here he is, the gentle old gringo cowboy who can do it all. All you have to do in this community is repair a vehicle, ride a horse, or look at an animal and say, “Yep, it was bit by a dog,” and everyone thinks you’re some kind of gringo veterinary genius.

On every level, you’re average.

It’s commendable that Eastwood is still directing and acting in films at his age, and his prior work has generally been of a high caliber. Despite this, Cry Macho is definitely a pretty lousy piece of art. Even Eastwood’s decent acting talents, despite his 91 years of age, cannot salvage the film’s forced speech, boring philosophising, and manufactured scenarios. Cry Macho isn’t a horrible movie, but one expects more from Eastwood than this.
