Orochimaru is unquestionably one of the most powerful characters in Naruto, but what about the other ninjas that have made their way into pop culture? Here are 20 anime characters stronger than Orochimaru.
The “Orochimaru” is a character from the Naruto series. He was introduced as an antagonist, but later became an ally to the protagonists of the series. The “Tsunade” is one of the main characters of the same series and is also a powerful ninja and medic-ninja.
Orochimaru will always be remembered as one of Naruto’s most memorable antagonists among the numerous.
His character design, after all, speaks for itself.
Who in their right mind would believe a quiet and cunning serpent person is one of the good guys?
Ironically, Orochimaru turned out to be one of the rare villains in anime that changed their ways.
And I congratulate him! Given his intelligence and power, he’s an extremely important asset for the Hidden Leaf. So his change of heart is a win-win situation for everyone.
So, despite Orochimaru’s immense might, which anime characters are most likely to beat him? Here are some of our favorites.
20. One For All
My Hero Academia is an anime series based on the manga My Hero Academia.
First and foremost, we have one of anime’s most wicked and dictatorial villains.
With his level of wickedness, this person would put most anime villains to shame.
He’s simply wicked, and he wouldn’t hesitate to murder individuals if it meant gaining more power and influence over the masses.
In order to produce the Yomu, AFO, like Orochimaru, has dabbled in human experimentation.
He is not only much more powerful than Orochimaru in terms of pure feats, but he also has an itching sidekick and a massive army of mutants at his disposal.
Whitebeard, number 19
One Piece is a popular anime series.
Whitebeard is well-known among anime fans as one of the most dangerous and destructive warriors of all time.
With his Gura Gura no Mi, he has the potential to induce tremors — and, by implication, earthquakes and tsunamis — anytime he wants.
This qualifies him as a “Tremor Human,” and Sengoku describes him as someone who could destroy the planet if he so desired.
In a direct battle, Whitebeard could fold practically any anime character like a lawn chair.
He’s simply that powerful.
After all, this is the guy who is always being compared to the famous Pirate King.
Meruem, number 18
Hunter X Hunter is a Japanese anime series.
Nothing like a good old “Science vs. Nature” argument.
And, unlike Orochimaru, whose might was primarily produced in a lab, Meruem is a clear example of evolution’s power in nature.
Meruem could easily sweep the floor with even the most powerful of hunters despite just being a few days old.
He was born a freak of nature who had incredible strength, speed, intellect, and endurance.
Even the most powerful hunter of the time couldn’t defeat Meruem without blowing himself up with a nuke, however the king did survive the blast as well.
Natsu Dragneel is seventeen years old.
Fairy Tail is a Japanese animated television series.
Natsu is your usual hard-headed and righteous Shounen MC, yet he still has his own distinct charms.
In some ways, I believe Natsu resembles Naruto, particularly in terms of broad character archetypes.
And the resemblances don’t end there.
After all, both protagonists are similar in the sense that they grew to be the most powerful characters in their respective series.
Despite being a novice wizard at the start of Fairy Tail, Natsu has developed into a powerful enough wizard to fight the “great villain” in the conclusion.
Koro-Sensei, no. 16
Assassination Classroom (anime)
Koro-Sensei is one of the numerous anime characters I predict will have a hard time getting along with Orochimaru.
After all, he was a victim of human experimentation who has now lost his human form.
Despite being an already powerful assassin known as “The Reaper,” he did acquire a huge power increase after being experimented on.
Koro-Sensei has obtained super speed, an improved healing factor, superhuman reflexes, and much more after being fused with antimatter particles.
He is a difficult foe to deal with. And he’s stronger than the majority of anime characters, including Orochimaru.
Accelerator (15.)
A Certain Scientific Accelerator in Anime
How could we forget about Accelerator when it comes to villains who managed to defect from the bad side and join the good guys?
During the first season of the show, he was certainly a jerk. But, like Orochimaru, he finally came to his senses and changed his ways.
This is also beneficial to the protagonists!
After all, who in their right mind would desire an adversary like Accelerator, who is immensely overpowered?
Yoko Kurama (14),
Ghost Fighter is a Japanese anime series.
Sadly for Orochimaru, this is another another fox-man he will be unable to defeat.
Yoko Kurama is the Nine-Tailed Fox from mythology, who transferred his spirit into the body of a young child.
Due to this, his strength was reduced for the bulk of the series, however anybody who has seen him battle in his full form knows he is a formidable opponent.
Yoko Kurama can outwit and sometimes even defeat crazy-strong opponents with his rose whips and a seductive, effeminate attitude.
Even S-class demons from the depths of hell are terrified of his name.
Esdeath is number thirteen.
Akame ga Kill! is a Japanese anime.
This ice waifu has the potential to be a terrific love interest.
Unfortunately, she was fighting on the wrong side and is a little crazy.
To those who catch her eye, Esdeath seems lovely and romantic, but to those who resist her and the empire, she is vicious and brutal.
She has personally murdered many innocent citizens and orchestrated multiple mass killings as a general in order to support her perverted “survival of the fittest” worldview.
She’s strong, quick, and possesses incredible ice control – as well as the ability to freeze time itself.
In terms of total strength, only a few anime characters can match her. But who knows for those who can?
Given how much she enjoys strong personalities, they could well be the “ideal one” for her. But I’m not sure whether a long-term relationship with her would work out…
Mayuri Kurotsuchi, 12
Bleach is a Japanese anime series.
Mayuri has a reputation for being a frightening and odd guy due to his looks and conduct.
The problem is, he’s frightening and strange.
He’s the quintessential “crazy scientist” character, and he does it so brilliantly that he previously served as a compelling villain in the series’ early episodes.
He has a nihilistic attitude to science and is unconcerned with other people’s feelings and beliefs, seeing them instead as possible experiments.
Mayuri, a mime-looking scientist with incredible speed, strength, and intellect, and a Bankai that can emit a fatal poison at command, is one mime-looking scientist no one should ever mess with.
Dio Brando (#11)
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a Japanese anime series.
When it comes to characters with whom no one should meddle…
Another nihilist who comes to mind is Dio Brando.
He was not merely a great user, but he had also accomplished what Orochimaru had been attempting for decades: perpetual life!
That is, until he became arrogant and messed with the wrong JoJo.
Regardless, Dio, with his The World (Za Warudo!) and time-stopping abilities, is a formidable opponent for even the most powerful anime characters.
In fact, if he weren’t as arrogant as Orochimaru, I believe he could easily defeat the majority of the JoJo cast.
Julius Novachrono, number ten
Black Clover is a Japanese anime series.
With his time manipulation spells, Julius Novachrono is the epitome of the term “overpowered.”
He was legitimately crowned Wizard King of the Clover Kingdom because of his intelligence and strength.
Julius isn’t merely a force to be reckoned with. He’s also a brilliant leader who once made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve his kingdom and its people.
The neighboring countries dread Julius, and even the elves’ leader, Patolli, went to great lengths to attempt to murder him in order to guarantee that their conquest would succeed.
There is a strong focus on the word “try.”
Alucard (nine)
Hellsing Ultimate is a Japanese anime series.
Alucard may admire Orochimaru’s tenacity and dexterity, but no one can match the No-Life King in these areas.
He’s the first vampire, and he’s resistant to all of the stereotypes about vampires. You name it: garlic, wooden stakes, crosses, and so forth.
Naturally, after consuming Schrodinger, he has acquired the one thing that Orochimaru desires for himself: genuine immortality. As a result, he can never actually be slain.
Worse, he’s tremendously powerful, to the point that his most formidable opponents walked away as soon as he unleashed his most powerful form.
You won’t be able to stop him once he starts going.
You can only hope — and, come to think of it, you probably won’t be able to control him either…
Escanor is number eight.
Seven Deadly Sins (Anime)
Orochimaru has a history of using prohibited and strong Jutsus.
But could he ever claim to be able to harness the sun’s power?
Escanor, on the other hand, can!
He’s so powerful that he can keep up with angels and demons who should be much more powerful than a human like him.
Also, don’t underestimate his pride. He obeys no one, not even an old commandment prohibiting him from battling a specific demon.
We’ve all seen how well that went for Estarossa, and Escanor wasn’t even at full strength!
Tempest of Rimuru
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Anime)
Some of you who aren’t familiar with the anime may assume this is a joke, but this slime isn’t like his canon-fodder counterparts.
Rimuru has grown to be quite a strong entity in a surprisingly short period as a result of absorbing so many foes and merging their talents and attributes.
He’s so powerful, in fact, that he could easily deal with high-level dragons and demons capable of wiping out whole cities should things get serious!
Not bad for an isekai protagonist who isn’t human.
It’s also worth noting that, despite having Orochimaru beaten at his present level of strength, he’s continually becoming more strong.
6. Toriko
Toriko is a Japanese anime series.
Toriko is a voracious eater.
And by that, I mean whatever beast or monster he can get his hands on and beat the living daylights out of.
This is owing to the demons that have taken up residence in his body, providing him with incredible power and extraordinary talents in return for an insatiable desire.
Toriko possesses all of the characteristics that any Shounen MC has. He’s constantly looking for a good battle, as well as being hard-headed and excessively active at times.
And, like Rimuru, by the conclusion of his series, he’d gotten so powerful from consuming so many things that he could wipe out practically any anime character he came across.
I suppose you should never underestimate gluttons?
5. Yakushi Kabuto
Naruto is a Japanese anime series.
Kabuto Yakushi is the pupil who has outperformed his teacher.
During the early episodes of the anime, it’s clear that Kabuto was nothing near Orochimaru’s level.
But what happens after the 4th Shinobi World War Arc? He’s done more than enough to be regarded on par with Orochimaru, in my opinion.
Kabuto has mastered Snake Sage Mode while Orochimaru has failed, and he has also held his own against Sasuke and Itachi.
Finally, as a tribute to his mother, he followed in his master’s footsteps and turned over a fresh leaf by establishing an orphanage at the Hidden Leaf Village (heh).
Again, congratulations to him!
Saiki Kusuo is number four on the list.
Anime: The Misadventures of Saiki K.
Saiki isn’t your average high school student, and being weaker than him isn’t a problem.
If he were a video game character, he’d be one of the players that began the game with every cheat enabled and the difficulty set to easy.
Saiki’s abilities are so many that listing them all would be impossible, so let’s just say he’s broken.
Just said, if he ever loses control of his abilities, he has the ability to destroy the planet by simply thinking about it.
As you can see, it’s easy to see why he’s regarded as one of the most powerful espers in anime history.
3. Satoru Gojo
Sorcery Fight is a Japanese anime series.
Gojo Satoru, who not only gives a frick about his opponents – but is also pretty dang smug – comes to mind when it comes to overpowering characters that remained unmoved by anything.
Why not, after all?
He’s undoubtedly the strongest character in his series (at least for the time being), and not even the second strongest comes close to matching his level of strength.
He’s swift, powerful, and so skilled at manipulating cursed energies and cursed tactics that he makes it appear simple.
Satoru Gojo is without a doubt one of anime’s most powerful side characters, who also happens to have stolen the show and become a fan favorite.
Saitama is number two.
One Punch Man is a Japanese anime series.
Saitama has been known to devastate massive monsters with a single punch, and he could certainly do the same to Manda, Orochimaru’s faithful companion.
It’ll be all over again for Centichoro…
Furthermore, if they ever battled one-on-one, I’m very confident he’d one-shot Orochimaru as well.
Saitama easily outperforms everyone in the Narutoverse, even Kaguya Otsutsuki herself, when it comes to sheer feats.
I realize this is a contentious viewpoint.
However, you have to realize that it’s difficult to argue with someone who kills terrifyingly powerful creatures on a regular basis.
1. Cell
Dragon Ball Z is a Japanese animated television series.
Cell is similar to Orochimaru in that his abilities were mostly developed in a lab.
They also seem to have a habit of vomiting up a piece of themselves whenever they get into trouble.
Yes, it’s nasty, but I find this resemblance to be rather amusing! That’s why I chose Cell above characters like Goku and Vegeta for this list.
Despite being substantially weaker than both Saiyans, Cell is more than capable of ranking higher than Orochimaru.
After all, this green cockroach-looking dude with a sophisticated voice (that curiously sounds like Plankton from SpongeBob) has the power to destroy an entire solar system.
Is there anything more I can say?
“Can gaara beat orochimaru” is a question that has been asked for years. Orochimaru, one of the strongest characters in Naruto, is 20 times stronger than Gaara. Reference: can gaara beat orochimaru.
